Landscaping – installation vidéo d’Eszter Salamon filmée près de Bergen en Norvège et développée avec Carte Blanche, la compagnie nationale de danse contemporaine de Norvège – nous plonge dans un monde où l’Homme et la Nature tentent de coexister autrement.

Dans un futur proche, les vivants n’ont eu d’autre choix que de s’allier aux océans, aux arbres et aux racines pour survivre. D’étranges créatures, faites de débris rejetés par l’océan, survivent en symbiose avec les éléments qui les entourent. Nomades, elles voyagent d’île en île, suivant la course du soleil et se connectant au cosmos. Ailleurs, au coeur d’une immense forêt, une autre communauté vénère les arbres et s’habille des vestiges du monde humain. Leurs corps se fondent dans l’humus et la mousse, dans un rêve d’union avec le grand poumon vert qui les abrite. Entre fable post-apocalyptique et réflexion écologique, Landscaping interroge notre lien aux paysages qui nous façonnent. Un voyage visuel fascinant, où l’humain se cherche une place dans un monde qu’il a trop longtemps malmené.

Landscaping—a video installation by Eszter Salamon filmed near Bergen, Norway, and developed with Carte Blanche, Norway’s national contemporary dance company—immerses us in a world where humans and nature attempt to coexist differently.

In the near future, the living have no choice but to ally themselves with the oceans, trees, and roots to survive. Strange creatures, made of debris washed up by the ocean, survive in symbiosis with the elements around them. Nomadic, they travel from island to island, following the path of the sun and connecting with the cosmos. Elsewhere, in the heart of a vast forest, another community worships trees and dresses in the vestiges of the human world. Their bodies blend into the humus and moss, in a dream of union with the great green lung that shelters them. Between post-apocalyptic fable and ecological reflection, Landscaping questions our connection to the landscapes that shape us. A fascinating visual journey, where humans seek their place in a world they have mistreated for too long.
