INSIDER brings together a new body of work reflecting on self-destruction and mutation. Using violence and tenderness as a strategy, the show extends Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s ongoing work on nervousness, approaching psychopharmaceuticals as an internalised, institutional structure.
Sidsel Meineche Hansen’s (1981, Denmark) recent exhibitions include: Schitzo-culture: cracks in the street, SPACE Gallery, London (2014); J’ai froid, castillo/corrales, Paris, (2014); Late Barbarians, Gasworks Gallery, London (2014) and DONOR: The Manual Labour Series, Malmö Art Museum, Malmö (2013). Recent seminars include: HIS HEAD, Gasworks Gallery (2014); Nervousness: The Micro-politics of Human Interaction, Jutland Art Academy, Denmark (2012); Towards a Physiological Novel hosted by X marks the Bokship, London (2010). Meineche, is part of the ongoing collaboration Model Court. She is currently working on the ongoing seminar series This is not a Symptom at the South London Gallery (2014-15).
