KREËMART: PROVOCATERS OF EXPERIMENTAL CONSUMPTION – Alberta Pane Gallery, Paris – October 20 – December 23, 202 – Opening: Thursday, October 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On the Kreëmart menu: Maurizio Cattelan, Marina Abramovic, Romina de Novellis…
Galerie Alberta Pane presents, in its two Parisian spaces, the exhibition Kreëmart: Provocateurs de la consommation expérimentale (Kreëmart: Provocateurs of Experimental Consumption), a first in Paris dedicated to the most significant collaborations between the Kreëmart production studio and numerous internationally renowned artists. The exhibition is accompanied by a critical text by Eugenio Viola.
Founded in 2009 by Raphael Castoriano, the sensory art studio Kreëmart was born from the desire to bring together contemporary artists and pastry chefs to create multi-sensory and performative works, infusing a playful and participatory dimension into the traditional experience of art contemplation. Through works where taste becomes an artistic medium in its own right, Kreëmart invites the public to move beyond the role of mere spectator and become active participants in the experience.
Over the years, Kreëmart has expanded its scope to become a production studio specializing in the creation of happenings that blend performances, installations, and sensory experiences, in collaboration with artists, cultural institutions, and brands. These projects explore the links between contemporary art, participation, and perception, fostering a dialogue between disciplines and the senses. Raphael Castoriano has presented Kreëmart’s happenings in more than thirteen countries worldwide and has collaborated with over one hundred international artists—including Maurizio Cattelan, Marina Abramovic, and Romina de Novillis—as well as brands (Gucci, Ladurée, etc.) and chefs. The first space of the exhibition highlights emblematic collaborations between Kreëmart and renowned artists, including The Taste of Priceless by Daniel Lismore, John Doe by David Mramor, Oh Mickey ! by Mickalene Thomas, and Cake by Rob Wynne. Screens display videos documenting the performances, while limited edition works and various archival objects from these performances are exhibited.
The second space is dedicated to immersive and participatory experiences. Throughout the exhibition, several artists are invited to create site-specific installations, each accompanied by a live performance. By bringing together artworks, installations, archival materials, and previously unseen performances, the exhibition Kreëmart: Provocateurs of Experimental Consumption traces the evolution of a practice that redefines the boundaries of contemporary art. Conceived as a space for experimentation and dialogue between disciplines, it invites visitors, now fully engaged participants, to take part in a sensory experience of art.
