En juin, le Holland Festival reprend vie ! Comme dit le slogan de l’affiche, laissez-vous inspirer ! Et il y a de quoi : une centaine de spectacles, Danse, Performance, Théâtre, Musique, Opéra… Et une pluie d’artistes remarquables, « la part des anges », dont Laurie Anderson, Ali Chahrour, Caroline Guiela Nguyen, Ana Pi, Germaine Kruip, Meredith Monk, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Tomoko Mukaiyama… De quoi être inspiré, en effet !

Que se passe-t-il lorsque la musique transcende le temps et l’espace, et crée un lien avec tous les auditeurs ? C’est ce type d’espace que la compositrice et violoncelliste islandaise Hildur Guðnadóttir souhaite créer en tant qu’artiste associée du Holland Festival 2026.

En 2026, le Holland Festival collabore pour la huitième fois avec un artiste associé : un artiste international à la vision globale et à la pratique artistique interdisciplinaire novatrice et originale. Cet artiste collaborera étroitement avec le festival pour une édition et présentera notamment une œuvre inédite créée en coproduction avec le Holland Festival.

Les idées de Guðnadóttir s’articulent autour de l’empathie, de l’écoute et de la transformation. Elles sont profondément ancrées dans sa conviction que l’art consiste à créer des expériences partagées, transformatrices et fédératrices. Ces thèmes constituent le fil conducteur du festival.

Le programme promet une fois de plus une grande diversité : des acteurs de renommée internationale à des spectacles intimistes et personnels ; d’un drame lyrique poignant à un orchestre faisant ses débuts aux Pays-Bas ; d’un spectacle de danse étincelant à une réinterprétation d’un classique du théâtre. Le tout se déroule dans des lieux à la fois familiers et surprenants.

Nouveauté cette année : le festival s’étend à Heerlen, dévoilant ainsi une nouvelle fois les portes d’Amsterdam. Outre les 104 spectacles, un riche programme d’ateliers, de conférences inspirantes, de rencontres gratuites, de promenades urbaines et une vaste sélection de films vous attendent. In June, the Holland Festival comes back to life! As the poster slogan says, get inspired! And there’s plenty to be inspired by: around a hundred shows, Dance, Performance, Theatre, Music, Opera… And a host of remarkable artists, « the angels’ share », including  Laurie Anderson, Ali Chahrour, Caroline Guiela Nguyen, Ana Pi, Germaine Kruip, Meredith Monk, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Tomoko Mukaiyama … Enough to be inspired, indeed!

What happens when music transcends time and space, and creates a connection with all listeners? This is the kind of space that Icelandic composer and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir hopes to create as an associate artist of the Holland Festival 2026.

In 2026, the Holland Festival will collaborate for the eighth time with an associate artist: an international artist with a global vision and an innovative and original interdisciplinary artistic practice. This artist will work closely with the festival for one edition and will present, among other things, a new work created in co-production with the Holland Festival.

Guðnadóttir’s ideas revolve around empathy, listening, and transformation. They are deeply rooted in his conviction that art is about creating shared, transformative, and unifying experiences. These themes form the guiding thread of the festival.

The program promises, once again, great diversity: from internationally renowned actors to intimate and personal performances; from a poignant lyrical drama to an orchestra making its Dutch debut; from a dazzling dance performance to a reinterpretation of a theatrical classic. All of this takes place in venues that are both familiar and surprising.

New this year: the festival extends to Heerlen, once again opening up Amsterdam’s cityscape. In addition to 104 performances, a rich program of workshops, inspiring talks, free meet-ups, urban walks, and a wide selection of films awaits you. Dance, move together, and connect!
